자동차를 맘껏 보고 타보고 만져볼 수 있는 곳이 생가보다 몇군데 없었습니다. 차를 좋아하는 아이들을 위해 찾아보니 용인에 있는 삼성자동차박물관이 가장 유명했지만 마침 실내인테리어 공사 중이라 다른 곳을 알아봤습니다.

찾아낸곳은 고양에 있는 현대 모터 스튜디오였습니다. 입장료가 생각보다 비싸 약간은 당황 스러웠지만 후기를 보니 아이들이 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 체험이나 자동차가 만들어지는 과정을 볼 수 있다는 점등에서 기대를 안고 예매를 했습니다.

예매는 현장에서도 가능하지만 가능하면 온라인으로 미리 예매 하는 것을 추천합니다. 매 15분마다 정해진 인원(15명인가)으로 제한 하고 있기에 원하는 시간에 관람을 하려면 미리 최소 4-5일 전에는 예매해야 합니다.
인원제한이 있다는 점도 좀 의아했지만 나중에 왜 인원제한이 있었는지 이해를 하게 됩니다. 그 이유는 밑에...

위치는 찾기 쉬웠습니다. 일산 킨텍스 바로 옆에 있기에 킨덱스로 들어가는 차들이랑 헷갈리지만 않으면 바로 찾아 갈 수 있습니다. 도착하면 로비에서 예약 확인을 하고 주차 등 몇가지 간단한 안내 내용을 전달 받습니다. 이때 아이들의 경우 키를 물어봅니다. 110cm 이상이 되야 체험할 수 있는 프로그램이 있기에 만약 키가 되지 않는다면 제약이 있다는 내용입니다. 

관람은 2층으로 올라가야 시작됩니다. 
그 시간이 되기 까지 1층 로비에서 전시된 다양한 현대 차들을 직접 타고 만져보며 시간을 보낼 수 있습니다. 제네시스, 아이오닉, 그랜져 등 다양한 차들을 보다보니 어느덧 관람 시간까지 지루하지 않게 기다릴 수 있었습니다.

시간이 되면 안내에 따라 해당 시간을 예약한 사람들이 모입니다. 다 모이면 2층에서 자동차 만드는 과정에서버터 설명을 해주시는 가이드 분의 능숙한 안내 에 따라 관람을 시작합니다.
자동차가 만들어지는 과정에서 TV에서만 보던 로봇팔들도 직접 보고 도료가 칠해지는 광경 등 재미졌습니다. 다음 다음 다음 자동차에 관련된 여러 정보들을 지루하지 않게 화려한 비주얼들로 채워진 체험들이라 지루하지 않게 시간을 보낼 수 있었습니다. 마지막에는 현대모터스포치팀에서 경주한 내용을 토대로 만든 4D영화까지 보며 신나게 관람을 마칠 수 있었습니다.

관람하면서 놀랐던건 이렇게 보낸 시간이 1시간30분으로 긴 시간이었지만 지루하지 않았던 점이라는 것과 각 섹션마다 배치된 가이드 분들의 정말 능숙한 설명과 안내, 무인 자동차라든지 충둘 장면 재현 이라든지 그동안 뉴스 등 보던 내용들을 모두 실제로 봤던 것들이 정말 재미있었습니다.

초등 학생 뿐만 아니라 어른들도 재밌게 즐길 수 있는 이곳을 추천합니다.
참, 사전에 키에 대한 안내는 110이 되지 않으면 4D 등 일부 체험에서 제외 됩니다. 가능하면 너무 어린 친구들은 좀 더 크고 나서 가는 가보시는게 좋습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

There weren't many places where you could freely look at, ride, and touch cars like you could at car museums. The Samsung Automobile Museum in Yongin was the most famous one for car enthusiasts, but unfortunately, it was closed for interior renovations. So I looked for another place.

I found the Hyundai Motor Studio in Goyang. The admission fee was slightly higher than I expected, which was a bit surprising, but based on the reviews, I had high expectations because it offered experiences that would captivate children and the chance to see the process of car manufacturing.

You can purchase tickets on-site, but it's recommended to book online in advance. They limit the number of visitors (around 15 people) every 15 minutes, so if you want to visit at your desired time, you should book at least 4-5 days in advance. The fact that they had visitor limitations seemed a bit odd at first, but later I understood why.

The location was easy to find. It was right next to KINTEX in Ilsan, so as long as you didn't confuse it with the cars entering KINTEX, you could easily find it. Upon arrival, I went to the lobby to confirm my reservation and received some brief instructions regarding parking and other matters. At this time, they asked about the height of the children. There were certain experiences that could only be enjoyed if they were over 110 cm tall, so if they didn't meet the height requirement, there were some restrictions.

The tour started on the second floor. While waiting for the designated time, you could spend time in the lobby on the first floor, where various Hyundai cars were displayed for you to sit in and touch. As I looked at different cars like Genesis, Ioniq, and Grandeur, time flew by and I wasn't bored until the tour time arrived.

When the time came, the guide gathered the people who had reserved the same time slot. Following their skilled guidance, we started the tour on the second floor, where we could see the process of car manufacturing. It was fascinating to see the robotic arms that we had only seen on TV in action, as well as the painting process. The following sections provided interesting experiences and visual presentations about various car-related information, making the time enjoyable. Lastly, we watched a 4D movie based on the races of the Hyundai Motorsport team, concluding the tour with excitement.

During the tour, I was surprised that even though it lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes, it wasn't boring. The skilled explanations and guidance from the guides in each section, the realistic scenes of autonomous vehicles and crash reproductions, and everything I had seen in the news came to life, which was truly enjoyable.

I highly recommend this place not only for elementary school students but also for adults. Just a reminder, if the height requirement of 110 cm is not met, some experiences like the 4D movie are excluded. It's better to wait until the children are a bit older before visiting.
